The Postpartum Project
5 Phase Breakdown

Let's break it down.
This course is 24 weeks total - broken up into 5 Phases. Each phase has 4 weeks of training + 1 week of deload/catchup.  Each week is made up of 4 sessions:
1 - strength training
1 - on the wall/climbing training
1 - finger + strength trainingÂ

weeks 1-5Â Â
Phase 1
This phase is crucial for forming a solid foundation that you will build upon. There will be an emphasis on learning & implementing fundamental principles of the course: breathing technique, ribs down, core up, pelvis + ribcage, pelvic floor, etc...Â

weeks 6-10Â Â
Phase 2
This phase builds on what we learned from Phase 1, but will feel harder and more challenging.
In this phase you will begin to master your breathing, deep core activation, proper hinge, reintroduce more intensity with finger training - and officially get back on the wall.    Â

 weeks 11-15Â
Phase 3
This phase adds more intensity to both your climbing and strength training. You are loading your core and glutes - A LOT.  Â
The climbing portion adds higher intensity problems, while giving focusing on continuing to build back up your overall capacity.       Â

Weeks 16-20Â Â
Phase 4
This is where things start to get really fun, and feel far less like 'postpartum' and more like...I'm BACK.
You have built the strength base; now it's time add some speed on top of all of that strength you've gained.

Weeks 21-24
Phase 5
AÂ continued focus on power development, but with an emphasis towards more 'power endurance'.
This is when all of the 'postpartum training wheels' officially COME OFF. This is no longer 'postpartum' training...this is just real, legit training for climbing!Â

Hi, I'm Joy
 The climbing coach for pregnant and postpartum climbers.
I have over a decade of experience coaching - and have worked with over 200 climbers specifically during pregnancy and/or postpartum.
Do not be shocked when I easily use the words pelvic floor, climbing, and internal rotation all in the same sentence.Â

It wasn't all that long ago...
That I climbed through two pregnancies. One in 2020 and one in 2021.
I can honestly say that climbing with my belly is perhaps the most badass I have ever felt. I loved it.Â
Fast forward to now, and having used my own recovery and return to climbing as a way to gain an even deeper understanding, appreciation, and respect for exactly what this program does.
